Silent city

I need to live inside a silent city.
A city that is empty not of people,
but of all words.
A city where the billboards are pure blank,
where speakers in the subways and the stores
are all turned off.
A city that does not force you to think,
that suggests nothing but the concrete ground
and the blue sky.
After you have been doing your daily duty,
silence is for the mind what's for the body
a good, long sleep.
